DEPARTMENT OF ZOOLOGY
Department of Zoology was started during the academic year 2015, with UG programme. This department was affiliated to Periyar University, Salem. At present B.Sc., program is successfully progressing in this department. This department is well established with infrastructural facilities. Academic excellence has always been one among the significant concerns of this department. M.Sc., programme proposed this Academic Year.
VISION:
Envision inculcating the highest values of life, science education. Respect for nature and concern for ethical values among students through good and scientific education.
MISSION:
To develop research aptitude and a scientific advancement.
To develop an aptitude for understanding nature and its rich biodiversity.
To bring about an awareness of health related problems its prevention and cure.
To appreciate the correlation between the structure and function of organisms.
To develop industry – institution collaboration / interaction to institute self – employment in Sericulture, Vermiculture, Aquaculture and Apiculture.
INFRASTRUCTURE:
The Department consists of smart classrooms with all modern accessories including ICT techniques such as the use of OHP'S and LCDS, also in house library which has more than one hundred books, leading journals and dailies to help students to keep update with latest business trends.
