DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH

    English has become a Global Language as such the Department of English enjoys a special privilege in upgrading the knowledge of every undergraduate since the college was established in 2006. The under graduate course was introduced in 2007 for the students from various places in and around Krishnagiri. Since then it has been continuously enhancing the academic richness to fulfill the literary thirst and to create employability. Literature plays a major role in broadening ones intellectual horizons and stimulates imagination. It also moulds students’ language aspects such as vocabulary, usage, creativity, aesthetic purpose and other skills. The department has also widened its horizons by providing Grammar, Functional English, comprehensive and other skills through ‘Bridge Course’ for the Fresh/ First year Under Graduate students to improve the communication skills. In the final year these students undergo University practical Examination conducted by the University for testing their listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing Skills along with interview techniques.
    The Department was upgraded with Post Graduation Programme in 2011. The department has well-equipped library, Language Lab and eminent, scholarly, hardworking faculty members. The Department was elevated as Research Department in 2013. It serves as a platform for Research scholars with abundant collection of books for enhancing their research attitude. The department has grown through the achievement of student ‘Rank Holders’ every year. It has conducted State and National level Seminars and created a great impact on the onlookers. The Literary Association conducted every year strives to attain perfect conceptual frame work of Language as well as literature. The students’ are constantly motivated in life skill development, personality development, placement activities and so on. The department has a passion to drive the students every year to educational tours to The Hindu Newspaper printing division, British Embassy and Library at various places.
