    Arignar Anna College is a self-supporting co-educational institution, affiliated to the Periyar University, Salem. It was started in the year 2006.The institution has well equipped, spacious library with rich collection of books, national, international journals, periodicals and magazines both printed and e-copies. Library has a stack hall for books, a reading room and a reference section with reprographic service. To upgrade the library facilities and to make available the recent literature to students and staff, the college purchases books each year. The library has textbooks for issue and for reference, competitive examination books, general knowledge books, novels which help students develop, all-round personalities. The reading room is provided with 7 daily newspapers of Tamil and English languages. Old question papers of the affiliated university are also available to the students. To create reading habits among students the institution gives best reader award on college day, best user of N-List is appreciated every month posting in our social media page and taken to book exhibitions annually. On an average per day more than twenty five percentage of students and faculty utilize the library facilities. Our library has membership in DELNET & INFILBNET which facilitates the e-books, e-journals, e-thesis/dissertation that helps the staff and students to prepare articles, Research papers and also to enrich their knowledge Digital Library has 9 computers with internet access is an additional facility for the benefit of the students.

VISION

   To provide rural education system traditional values with modern ideas to motivate and enlightened morally supported. to service to the society support and encouragement among all the members in the Arignar Anna College to develop knowledgeable and prosperous society.

MISSION

   The institution aims at providing quality of education to develop the weaker section of the society needs of the library user with information resources in the digital era introduce new technologies in the library. To provide economically socially culturally to develop rural areas.

  1. Students / Faculty shall scan their ID card in the E Gate Register Scanner while entering and leaving the library
  2. Books shall be issued only on producing Bar Coded ID card
  3. Strict silence shall be maintained inside the library
  4. Personal belongings (bags, books and noted etc) will not be allowed inside the library
  5. The librarian reserves the right to cancel the membership of any students not obeying the rules of the library
  6. In the odd semester, the books will be issued for all the UG and PG Students. The Library books must be returned before the even semester examination to obtain the No Due Certificate.
  7. Books, journals and magazines after use, must be replaced in their proper places.
  8. Reference books must be consulted in the library and will not be lent for home reading
  9. No book shall be taken out of the library without due entry in the Computer.
  1. Books taken from the library are to be returned within 15 days from the date of issue for students, 2 months for faculty members
  2. UG students are eligible to take maximum of 2 books and PG students of 4 books, faculty members can take up to 10 books
  3. There will be no issue of returned books on the same day but will be issued on next day
  4. If a book is lost the user should inform to the librarian immediately and the same should be replaced within 15 days from the due date
  5. Reference books CDs, DVDs, Project Reports, Back Volumes and Periodicals will not be issued, for reference only in the library
  6. If a user fails to return the books on the due date the member is liable to be fined Rs 1 per day
  7. If a book is not returned on the due date additional book will not be issued.
